Forward Standing Pivot

Step by Step Instructions:

1. With partner's standing back to back the partner that will carry bends knees and lowers body so that partner's butt is in the small of their back.

2. Then interlock elbows with each other.

Bottom partner leans gently forward pulling Top partner over their back until Bottom partner's upper body is parallel to the mat.

3. Hold this position for 5 breathes then release your partner to a standing position

CAUTION: Always warm up before practicing this pose

BENEFITS: Opens chest and abdomen - Facilitates deep, relaxed breathing


If the Bottom Partner is not able to bend their back until it is parallel to the floor then they can just stop where it feels comfortable.

Sometimes it is also possible to bend a little too forward!
